Brad Goldizen is a member of the VA State Bar and licensed
to represent others before the U. S. Patent and Trademark
Office in patent and trademark matters. Brad has
prosecuted numerous patents for foreign and domestic
clients. His experience includes extensive hands-on work
with electricity and electronics as is reflected by his
Master Electrician's license.
During high school, Brad studied Industrial Electricity
and obtained an electrician's license. Following high
school, Brad joined the United States Army working as an
electronics technician. Upon completion of military
service, Brad studied at West Virginia University and
obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical
Engineering.
Locally, Mr. Goldizen worked for a government
contractor designing and integrating communication
systems. He also worked for a Norfolk-based research and
development company helping to obtain protection for
intellectual property. A Regent Law School graduate, Brad
comes to Virginia Beach from Washington D.C. where he
worked with a large, international law firm.
Intellectual Property Services provided include:
- conducting patentability and patent validity
searches;
- drafting provisional and nonprovisional patent
applications;
- providing patent infringement opinions;
- prosecuting patent applications;
- analyzing Official Actions issued by the United
States Patent and Trademark Office;
- providing opinions concerning patent misuse and
unfair competition;
- litigating patent infringement claims;
- obtaining preliminary injunctions;
- drafting licensing agreements involving technology.
Brad has experience in many areas of patent prosecution
including: "E-commerce" type business patents;
computer implemented inventions; electrical and mechanical
devices and/or apparatuses; optical devices; data
management, storage and manipulation devices and
techniques; and semiconductor devices and manufacturing
techniques.
Brad Goldizen also conducts trademark searches,
prepares and files trademark and copyright applications,
prosecutes trademark applications, and advises clients on
trade secret protection and violations. He is available to
meet with you to discuss any area of Intellectual Property
Law.
